Cherrywood Finds a home
“Cherrywood Finds a home” is a children’s book, written by Joyce Marrie. On friendship, rejection and the value of self-esteem, and making positive choices. For ages 5 to 8.
Why Use Trees?
Using trees as characters show children a story they can relate to on their level. If you watched the movie, The Lion King, and the Wizard of Oz, the scarecrow, tin man and many other stories or movies, used as characters to communicate a message of hope.
We impart to children hope as a way to show kindness, respect for one another. Negative behavior breeds violence and violence, abuse, scars and many times turns into hurtful feelings towards one another (Hurting people hurt other people). The Cherry Wood series is to bring hope to upcoming generations that many times are forgotten.
The Cherry Wood Series can be used as a: African Folktale, Sunday School Lesson (Trees connecting to life and Peace). A Short Act Play, Poetry/Spoken Word (addressing pain to healing).
